Every great transformation begins with a question. For us, it was this: What would Africa look like if everyone had the opportunity to lead?
From that question, the African Leadership Transformation (ALT) Foundation was born—with a belief that leadership is not a title reserved for a few, but a practice that belongs to all. Across homes, workplaces, and faith communities, we have seen that when people act with integrity, purpose, and service, entire systems begin to shift. Change stops being something we wait for and becomes something we create.
This year’s impact report captures more than numbers. It tells the story of women who found their voice, faith leaders who turned belief into action, and communities that are rediscovering agency from within. Together, they represent the foundation of a movement—one that proves leadership can be taught, practiced, and multiplied.
The urgency in our assignment is rooted in the fact that by 2050, over 25% of the world's population will be African. This is why we are expanding into new youth-focused frontiers—youth leadership, climate leadership, and AI-augmented learning—each grounded in the same conviction that guides everything we do: Africa’s transformation depends not on aid, but on leadership.
To our learners, partners, volunteers, and friends—thank you for walking this path with us. Your belief in Africa’s potential continues to fuel a vision of a continent that works for everyone.
Leadership is growing here, and its roots are deep.
With gratitude and hope,
