The Women’s Leadership Course turned around my entire being. Before attending the course, I was an introvert, due to being born in a polygamous family, where my mother had to single-handedly cater for me and siblings, despite being married. The Course; especially the session on Forgiveness; helped bring out the Leadership skills hidden in me as I learned to forgive unconditionally. Prior to the course, I had harbored so much resentment towards my father for not sponsoring me through my secondary education, but AWLC released me from that regret and resentment.
The lessons I gleaned from the Four Pillars of Leadership and the Forgiveness sessions have now become best practices that I live by and the sharing from other course participants have helped enhance my mental wellbeing, tolerance, forgiveness and integrity.
Furthermore, in my community, in Bambui; the North-West Region of Cameroon; there is a wide practice of traditional rites which hinders the growth and empowerment of women. Due to this, a number of women came together in the early 80s to advocate for gender equality. As part of this work, I share the knowledge I have acquired from AWLC with women in my church group and other settings once a month and there have been testimonies of women reuniting with their spouses or other family members and friends as a result of the Forgiveness Module.
