ALT Foundation Board of Directors

The ALT Foundation is an African-based and African-focused foundation registered in South Africa as a Section 21, not-for-profit organization (NPO).  Similar registrations are on-going in Ghana, Kenya and Zambia.  In recognition of the international nature of leadership, and to manage global relationships, the Foundation is also registered in the USA as a 501 (c)3 not-for-profit organization.

The Foundation has an International Board of Directors (IBoD), supported by a Founder’s Group (FG).  At the moment, the FG constitutes of country representatives from Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Zambia and the USA; in the future, the FG will expand to include representative from other African countries.

The Foundation’s day-to-day operations are run by an Executive Director, who will work closely with Country Board of Directors (CBoD).  Within their countries, members of the FG operate as key drivers of the ALT Foundation agenda.  Some sit on the Country Board (CBoD).  For strategic reasons the ALT Foundation will seek to have heavy local representation at the CBoD; we will also ensure diversity by academic discipline, region and gender.
